High performance driving experience
I have participated in driving events since 1990 including autocrosses, driver’s schools, club-racing, TSD Rallies and Ice Racing. The cars encompassed rear-drive, front-drive and all-wheel-drive including standard street cars and high horsepower dedicated track-cars.
In the early ‘90’s, I started track events with the BMW Car Club of America, Porsche Car Club, Ferrari Club and SCCA. I became an instructor for the BMW CCA and the PCA in 1996, gaining significant experience driving a multitude of different cars at a variety of racetracks. I’ve driven racetracks all across the northeastern US and Canada; New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Limerock Park, Bridgehampton, Summit Point, and Mt. Tremblant. This evolved in 1998 when I built and campaigned an ‘87 BMW 325is in the BMW CCA Club Racing series. I spent the next 10 years Club Racing with the BMW CCA.
I have extensive autocrossing and TSD Rally experience, typically with BMW CCA, SCCA or SCCNH, in a rear-drive car.
Further, I have helped organize and run BMW CCA Ice Racing for the past 10 years. Ice Racing is basically like an autocross on a frozen lake although the course is typically more open than an autocross course. It is a timed, one-car-at-a-time event, like an autocross or rally. There is no wheel-to-wheel element. It is all about learning how to handle a vehicle at speed in slippery conditions. Learn more about BMW CCA Ice Racing >
2011 began my new endeavor in rally racing. The Black River Stages in September 2011 was my debut, where among 43 total cars I finished 4th in class, 12th overall. Much more rally events to come. . .
